First Anniversary, 1996. Oxnard, CA.

In July 1995, local community activists and organizers called for a community meeting in La Colonia, the oldest and largest Mexican community in Oxnard, California. The purpose of the community meeting was to discuss the organizing of a community-based organization, around the principles of self-determination. The outcome was the establishment of the NCMC – Oxnard Region, now known as the Committee On Raza Rights.
